Georgia hopes for peaceful resolution of situation in Abkhazia
TBILISI. May 28 (Interfax) - Tbilisi hopes that the situation in Abkhazia will stabilize, Georgian State Minister for Reintegration Paata Zakareishvili said.
Tbilisi has been following the events in Sukhumi with concern, the state minister said on Wednesday commenting on the situation in Sukhumi.
"Tensions in Abkhazia are not in anyone's interests, they can only cause destabilization in the region. We hope that the parties will manage to reach a consensus in a peaceful form and that tensions will not escalate into violence," Zakareishvili said.
