Russian-Kazakh cooperation in high-tech industries will be successful - Putin
ASTAMA. May 29 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin said he has no doubts about the development of Russian-Kazakh cooperation in high-tech industries.
Speaking about Russian-Kazakh relations during a meeting with his Kazakh counterpart Nursultan Nazarbayev following a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, Putin reiterated that these relations "are developing according to the best possible scenario."
"The trade turnover is increasing, humanitarian ties and contacts are expanding, we have good prospective projects, but we still need to give increasing attention to issues relating to interaction in the high-tech industries,"
Putin said it is important to form new competencies in this work in Russia and in Kazakhstan. "We have every reason to believe that this work will be successful," he said.
Putin again congratulated Nazarbayev on signing the Treaty on the creation of the Eurasian Economic Union. "It's your success, if not to say triumph," Putin said, adding that twenty years have passed since Nazarbayev suggested the idea of such an association and many problems have been resolved since that time.
At the same time, Putin admitted that the two countries still have a lot of work to do to use the advantages of the new union.
Nazarbayev also thanked Putin for his successful work on the creation of the Eurasian Economic Union, saying he is hoping that this union will work for the benefit of all member countries and their peoples.
