Lawyer denies Ukrainian film director's involvement in Right Sector, terrorism
MOSCOW. May 30 (Interfax) - The defense team of Ukrainian film director Oleh Sentsov says the information about his involvement in the Right Sector radicalized organization and terrorist activity is unfounded.
"We think that the posted information is not objective. There is no proof of the facts cited by the Federal Security Service press release," Sentsov's lawyer Dmitry Dinze told Interfax on Friday.
He said the defense team had given a non-disclosure pledge, which "applied to any comment related to that investigation." Dinze said he would appeal that decision.
"An appeal concerning the detectives' action will be filed next week consistent with article 125 of the Criminal Procedure Code. The [court] session has to be open," the lawyer said.
The Federal Security Service reported on Friday Right Sector members had been detained in Crimea on suspicions of preparing acts of sabotage and terrorism in a number of cities of the peninsula.
