Opposition leader Lebedko to run for Belarus president in 2015
MINSK. May 31 (Interfax) - The United Civil Party, one of Belarus' oldest opposition groups, on Saturday re-elected Anatoly Lebedko as its leader and elected him as the party's candidate for president of Belarus to run in next year's election, Interfax was told at the party.
The decisions were made at a party congress which also decided that, if various opposition groups decided to nominate a single candidate for the 2015 poll, Lebedko would seek the role.
Lebedko has regularly run for president and a parliament seat.
