Humanitarian corridor must be created - Donetsk officials

KYIV. June 3 (Interfax) - A humanitarian corridor should be created for delivering medicines and food to the Donetsk region, the state regional administration's press service said.

Problems, rooted in the tense sociopolitical situation in the Donetsk region, were discussed on Tuesday at an intercom conference chaired by First Deputy Prime Minister Vitaly Yarema.

"One of them is that of creating humanitarian corridors to deliver medicine and food to social welfare facilities and children's recreation centers in Kramatorsk, Slovyansk and Svyatohorsk," the press service said, citing the regional health department chief, Yelena Petryayeva.

Another important issue is the resumption of social payments in Slovyansk and Kramatorsk, suspended due to tensions, she said.
