Russian human rights ombudsman calls for setting up humanitarian corridor in southeastern Ukraine
BOCHAROV RUCHEI (SOCHI). June 3 (Interfax) - Russian Human Rights Commissioner Ella Pamfilova is astounded by the Western countries' reaction to the humanitarian situation in the southeastern part of Ukraine and calls for setting up a humanitarian corridor for refugees there.
"A humanitarian corridor is needed there [in the combat area]. I am simply astounded by seeing how a lot of our authoritative international organizations, the entire illuminated Western world, have suddenly become simultaneously deaf, mute, and blind and don't see that there is a truly horrible tragedy there with children and people wanting to flee areas fired upon," Pamfilova said at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday.
