Two Ukrainian soldiers injured near Slovyansk - operation spokesman

KYIV. June 10 (Interfax) - Two Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers were injured as local militiamen tried to break through army lines outside of the city of Slovyansk, Vladislav Seleznyov, spokesman for the military operation in the southeast of Ukraine, has said.

"Militants continue their attempts to break through the encirclement near the city of Slovyansk. Two Ukrainian servicemen were injured as a result of the latest attack on the positions of "anti-terrorist" operation units using small arms and grenade launchers," Seleznyov said on his Facebook account on Tuesday evening.

Meanwhile, an attack by militiamen was repelled near another roadblock manned by Ukrainian soldiers.

"Some ten militants tried to break through the encirclement, but their attempt was thwarted by Ukrainian servicemen," he said.
