Golodets: More than 2,500 Ukrainian refugees officially accommodated in Russia

MOSCOW. June 10 (Interfax) - Russia has provided official accommodation to over 2,500 Ukrainian refugees and can accommodate another 10,000, Deputy Prime Minister Olga Golodets said.

"We have done some numerical estimates and all border control posts have been recording arrivals of Ukrainian citizens. As of now, over 2,500 persons have been given official accommodation," Golodets told reporters on Tuesday.

Some 10,000 refugees more can be accommodated, she added.

"It is hard to make forecasts but we are ready to receive people and create appropriate conditions for their stay and health. We have reserved 10,000 [accommodation facility] vacancies," the vice-premier noted.

Most of the vacancies exist in southern regions bordering Ukraine, she said. "The Krasnodar territory and the Rostov region will be involved. Everyone is prepared for doing this work," she said.
