Putin thanks France for cordial reception of Normandy guests
MOSCOW. June 10 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has admitted that he is feeling grateful to the French for their warm welcome in Normandy which hosted the festivities on the occasion of the anniversary of the allied landings in Normandy.
"The French president held a very big and very important event. All attendees of the Normandy event were received so cordially that, you know, the already big feeling of gratitude to the French people has grown," Putin said at the Internet-Enterprise in Russia forum on Tuesday.
"I am being serious: the French government has approached it with soul, and the people extended a very warm welcome," the Russian president said.
