Russian watchdog detects genetically modified soya in shipment of Provimi feed supplement

MOSCOW. June 11 (Interfax) - Russian agricultural watchdog Rosselkhoznadzor has detected genetically modified soya in a shipment of vitamin and protein supplements from Provimi BV (Netherlands), the agency said in a statement.

Due to the incident, Rosselkhoznadzor has imposed heightened laboratory control over shipments from the enterprise.

It has also warned the veterinary service of the Netherlands that such violations are unacceptable.

Provimi is part of the Cargill corporation, which purchased the Dutch concern in 2011.
