Poroshenko briefs Biden on peace efforts for east Ukraine

KYIV. June 11 (Interfax) - Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has briefed U.S. Vice President Joe Biden on the work of the trilateral group that is drafting a peace plan in implementing an initiative put forward by Poroshenko, the Ukrainian leader's office said on Wednesday in reporting a phone call between the two politicians.

"In response, the U.S. vice president expressed readiness to continue to support moves by Ukraine to ensure its territorial integrity and [willingness for] joint action to settle the situation in the east of Ukraine," the office said in a statement.
