Russia strongly condemns plans of terrorists to consolidate in Iraq - Foreign Ministry spokesman

MOSCOW. June 11 (Interfax) - Moscow condemns the actions of terrorist groups in Iraq attempting to consolidate in Iraq and neighboring Syria, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich said in a statement posted on the ministry's website on Thursday.

"We confirm yet again our strong condemnation of terrorists' plans to consolidate in Iraq, Syria and other parts of the region," the document said.

Western countries bear the responsibility for the destabilization, which lead to consequences serious for the Middle East, Lukashevich said.

"No doubt that those, who intruded Iraq over ten years ago and continued to impose their decisions and will on nations of the region, assisted to a large extent the launch of destabilization processes, the results of which are evident today throughout almost the entire Middle East," the statement said.
