Two civilians killed in last night shelling attack - Slovyansk militia
DONETSK. June 15 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian military shelled towns outside Slovyansk last night, killing two civilians, the Slovyansk militia said.
"The Ukrainian military shelled the towns of Semyonovka and Cherevkovka, and the center of Slovyansk last night, killing two civilians. A shell hit a house in Semyonovka, sparking off a fire," the Slovyansk militia's headquarters told Interfax on Sunday.
In addition to this, the National Guard shut down the reserve water line running from the town to Slovyansk, the militia said.
"We have a reserve water line, but the National Guard shut it down. We take water from wells now," the Slovyansk militia said.
Meanwhile, the National Guard's press service reported that three militiamen were killed and two others were captured outside Slovyansk on Sunday.
"Fighting erupted between a Ukrainian law enforcement unit and the militia, when the terrorists attempted to break through a checkpoint near the village of Yurlovka outside Slovyansk, where the National Guard was deployed," it said in a statement on Sunday morning.
Three militiamen were killed and two others were captured and are being questioned, the statement says.
"The law enforcement contingent did not sustain losses," it says.
