Indictment approved against Oboronservis case defendant Vasilyeva - military prosecutors
MOSCOW. June 16 (Interfax) - The Military Prosecutor General's Office (MPGO) has approved an indictment against the main defendant in the Oboronservis case, Yevgeniya Vasilyeva, the MPGO spokesperson said.
"On June 16 the Military Prosecutor General's Office approved the indictment in the criminal case against the organized criminal group of the former executives from the Russian Defense Ministry's Property Relations Department - Yevgeniya Vasilyeva, and the General Directors Maksim Zakutailo of the Moscow Military District Trade Department and Larisa Yegorina of Oboronstroi and the Main Troops Accommodation Directorate," the MPGO said in a press release.
The indictment has also been approved against Irina Yegorova, who is the former general director of two limited liability companies, Kompaniya Hors and Ronix Plus, and other defendants charged with selling expensive properties owned by the Defense Ministry's joint-stock and sub-holding companies at artificially low prices, prosecutors said.
Vasilyeva and the other defendants have been charged with 13 counts, including exceeding their authority, massive fraud, abuse of office by an official performing managerial duties in a commercial organization, and money laundering, the press release said.
Also, the Russian Defense Ministry and Oboronservis with its subholding companies filed civil lawsuits pledged by the freezing of the defendants' accounts and property to the tune of around one billion rubles.
Once its copies have been served on the defendants, the indictment will be sent for hearing to the Presnensky Court of Moscow.
