"Donetsk People's Republic" says dialogue with Poroshenko's envoy is possible only with help of mediators
DONETSK. June 17 (Interfax) - The leaders of the self-proclaimed "Donetsk People's Republic" have said that any bilateral negotiations with Iryna Herashchenko, who was recently appointed as the Ukrainian president's special envoy for peaceful settlement in Ukraine's southeastern regions, will be impossible.
"The time of bilateral talks has already passed. We have no intention of speaking to representatives of Ukraine in such a format because this country kills our people every day - both near Slovyansk and other cities," "Donetsk People's Republic" First Deputy Prime Minister Andriy Purhin told Interfax on Tuesday.
Any dialogue with Herashchenko would become possible only in the presence of mediators such as Russia and international organizations, he said.
"We will engage in this dialogue only in the presence of mediators. And we will discuss only a hostage swap and the withdrawal of the Ukrainian army from the territory of Donbas," Purhin said.
