SPD to receive operatorship of other Gazprom Neft/Shell JV's fields

MOSCOW. June 17 (Interfax) - Salym Petroleum Development (SPD), a joint venture between Gazprom Neft and Shell, will receive the operatorship of fields licensed to another joint venture between the two companies, Khanty-Mansi Oil and Gas Union.

"SPD will operate Khanty-Mansi Oil and Gas Union's fields. SPD's job is to hire contractors and organize work. Khanty-Mansiisk Oil and Gas Union will still be the center of expertise and will set the tasks," Vadim Yakovlev, a Gazprom Neft deputy CEO, told reporters.

Yakovlev did not say how long SPD would operate the fields.

Khanty-Mansi Oil and Gas Union is the second joint venture formed by Gazprom Neft and Shell. It was registered in St. Petersburg in 2013 and is exploring the Iyulsky-4, Iyulsky-5 and Yuzhno-Lungorsky-1 fields in the Khanty-Mansiisk Autonomous District.
