Ukraine leader and top EU official discuss June 27 agreement signing
KYIV. June 19 (Interfax) - Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and European Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighborhood Policy Stefan Fule discussed the upcoming signing of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union, due to take place in Brussels on June 27, at their recent meeting, the Ukrainian presidential press service has reported.
"Petro Poroshenko thanked the EU for the "leading role" it has been playing in securing international assistance for Ukraine, including on the part of the IMF [International Monetary Fund], as well as for the European Commission's idea to hold an international donor conference for Ukraine," the press service said.
The meeting was also attended by head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine Jan Tombinsky, Kyiv's envoy to the EU Kostyantyn Yeliseyev and Ukrainian deputy presidential chief-of-staff Valeriy Chaly.
