Tentative startup date for Baltic LNG moved back to 2020

MOSCOW. June 19 (Interfax) - The tentative commissioning date for the Baltic LNG plant in Leningrad region has been moved back to 2020, Gazprom said in materials.

The original startup date, 2018, was moved back to 2019 earlier this year.

The dates are tentative pending approval of the final investment decision, industry sources told Interfax.

In order to supply the Baltic LNG plant, which will have capacity to produce 10 million tonnes of LNG a year, Gazprom will upgrade the existing Gryazovets-Vybord gas pipeline, the materials say. Raising the pipeline's capacity to 9.4 billion cubic meters a year will involve building 216 kilometers of looping and adding 25 megawatts of compressor capacity at existing stations. The project is scheduled for implementation in 2014-2017. The project documentation is being finalized.

Gazprom LNG St. Petersburg LLC is the project operator.
