Sanctions, embargo attempts have no impact on interest in Russian arms - Rosoboronexport

PARIS. June 19 (Interfax-AVN) - The plan of meetings and talks at the Eurosatory 2-14 defense exhibition being held in Paris has been exceeded, Rosoboronexport Deputy General Director Igor Sevastyanov said.

"As you can see all attempts to apply sanctions and so on have failed," Sevastyanov, who head Rosoboronexport delegation at Eurosatory 2014, told reporters on June 18.

The meeting plan composed in Moscow upon preliminary agreements of Rosoboronexport and some holding companies has been exceeded, Sevastyanov said. "And this tendency continues," he said.

Kalashnikov concern and Uralvagonzavod are among companies towards which most interest was shown, Sevastyanov said.

"The flow of visitors and meetings is higher than planned," he said.

Representatives of Southeast Asia, Latin America, Africa, European and Scandinavian states were among visitors of the Russian exposition, Sevastyanov said. "The impression is that nothing has changed," he said.

Leader of the National Front party Marine Le Pen visited the Russian exposition on June 18. According to the Interfax correspondent, she was content with the defense products exhibited.

The Eurosatory 2014 defense exhibition, which opened in Paris on June 16, will be open until June 20.
