Transneft redistributes flows of Rosneft oil after fire at Achinsk refinery

MOSCOW. June 19 (Interfax) - Transneft has already redistributed flows of oil from Rosneft following a fire at the Achinsk refinery, Transneft President Nikolai Tokarev told Interfax on the sidelines of the World Petroleum Congress.

"We have already redistributed everything without harming Rosneft or Transneft," he said, adding that flows of oil that previously went to the Achinsk refinery would be directed towards the Baltic.

Tokarev said Transneft did not have information on the timeframe for the refinery to resume operations. "A lot of work will need to be done there, it seems. But it's difficult to name a timeframe," he said.

An explosion occurred at the Achinsk refinery on the night of June 15 that resulted in the death of eight individuals. Acting governor of Krasnoyarsk territory, Victor Tolokonsky, said the plant would take a very long period of time to resume operations after the fire, which was brought about by the explosion of a gas fractionating plant.
