Lavrov to visit Saudi Arabia for negotiations

MOSCOW. June 19 (Interfax) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will visit Saudi Arabia on June 20-21 to meet with the country's administration, Russian Foreign Ministry official Alexander Lukashevich said.

"Tomorrow and the day after tomorrow, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will visit Jidda, Saudi Arabia," he told a briefing in Moscow.

Lavrov will visit Saudi Arabia at the invitation of Saudi Foreign Minister Saud al-Faysal.

"There will be negotiations with Saudi officials," Lukashevich said.

"The upcoming contacts will, of course, address the most vital issues on the regional agenda: Syria, the situation around this country, the situation in Iraq, security in the Persian Gulf area, and the bilateral agenda, especially with regard for Russian-Saudi interaction, including political dialogue and cooperation in the sphere of trade and economics," he said.
