Moscow: Security problems hinder release of OSCE Luhansk, Donetsk employees

MOSCOW. June 19 (Interfax) - Security problems in southeastern Ukraine are the main impediment to the release of captured OSCE monitoring mission employees, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich said.

"Security [levels] are the main impediment to the release of employees of the mission's Luhansk and Donetsk divisions, among them Russian citizen Sidorov, who were captured in May," he said at a press briefing in Moscow.

The diplomat said at the same time that Russia was ready to work on the release of the mission staff members.

"Yet, as you understand, the main responsibility rests upon the Kyiv authorities, which must create appropriate conditions for the soonest release of observers through the soonest end of violence," Lukashevich emphasized.
