Militant killed in Chechnya was on federal wanted persons list - Interior Ministry
MOSCOW. June 23 (Interfax) - The Chechen police have identified several members of illegal armed groups who were eliminated on Sunday, the region's Interior Ministry has reported on its website.
Among the men is Kerim Matsayev, 23, a resident of the village of Noiber, and Ibragim Dubayev, 25, a resident of the village of Komsomolskoye.
According to the investigators, Dubayev was on the federal wanted persons list on suspicion of grave and especially grave crimes.
The investigators are now working on determining whether the two men were involved in other crimes, including the recent killing of a police officer in Grozny, the press release says.
Two policemen were wounded in a clash with people driving a car in the Urus-Martan district of Chechnya on Sunday (the police officers were trying to detain the men in the car). One of the men in the car was killed and the other blew himself up.
