Contacts on resolving conflict in Ukraine should continue until certain results reached - Karasin
MOSCOW. June 24 (Interfax) - Moscow thinks it is necessary to continue the contacts between representatives of southeastern Ukraine and Kyiv authorities, which started on June 23, so they lead to certain results - stopping violence and beginning dialogue, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin told Interfax.
"The mere fact of a meeting between representatives of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions with the three - Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) chairperson-in-office representative Heidi Tagliavini, former Ukrainian President Leonid Kuchma and Russian Ambassador in Kyiv Mikhail Zurabov - and head of the Ukrainian Choice public organization Viktor Medvedchuk is a promising start," he said.
At the same time, "it is very important that this process continues and leads to certain results - firstly, stopping bloodshed and starting real dialogue between the Kyiv authorities and southeast," Karasin said.
