OMV shares its gas storage capacity with Gazprom
MOSCOW. June 24 (Interfax) - Gazprom has concluded a deal on its future use of Austrian OMV's underground storage capacity, materials for the Russian president's visit to Austria said.
"On April 29, OJSC Gazprom and OMV signed a memorandum on the intent on further cooperation in the field of underground gas storage. On June 3, an agreement on the use of OMV's underground gas storage capacity was signed and is valid for the 2014/2015 gas year," the documents said.
Austria is one the main locations for the development of Gazprom's storage capacity in Europe. In 2011 LLC Gazprom Export and its Austrian partners finished the construction of the Haidach underground gas storage facility, which is the second in Europe and in active gas volume. The stake of the Russian company in the project is 66.7% - 1.89 billion cubic meters from a total volume of 2.83 bcm.
