Miller: Gazprom pipeline system must operate in interests of shareholders, investors
MOSCOW. June 27 (Interfax) - Gazprom views its gas transportation system as one segment of the company's business, focused on generating earnings for shareholders, CEO Alexei Miller said at the AGM in Moscow on Friday.
"Gazprom operates a gas transportation system that is unique in terms of volumetric and qualitative parameters. We view Gazprom's gas transportation system as an instrument for realizing the interests of shareholders and investors in raising volumes and efficiency of sales," Miller said.
"The gas transportation system ensures highly reliable, uninterrupted deliveries, thereby enhancing Gazprom's appeal as an energy project partner. The scale of our gas transportation system has a role to play in this. In the reporting year, over 659 billion cubic meters of gas entered the system in Russia. That is more than the entire amount of gas Europe consumes annually," he said.
