OSCE monitors visit Slovyansk, Kramatorsk - militia

MOSCOW. June 27 (Interfax) - The first OSCE monitoring mission launched since the beginning of the ceasefire has started working in Donbas, Southeastern Front information center head Konstantin Knyrik told Interfax.

"A team of six OSCE monitors from various West European countries visited Slovyansk yesterday; the people's mayor gave them a tour of the infrastructure destroyed by Ukrainian gunfire and after that they [the monitors] moved to Kramatorsk to meet with the local militia chief, speak to rank-and-file militiamen and take a look at the city. The work will continue today," Knyrik said.

The militia does not impede the monitoring mission. "We are open to the media and the OSCE monitors and we are ready to be fully cooperative so that they see things as they really are here," Knyrik said.
