Duma chairman believes OSCE PA will agree to set up contact group on Ukraine
BAKU. June 28 (Interfax) - Russian State Duma Chairman Sergei Naryshnkin, who is leading the Russian delegation at the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe Parliamentary Assembly (OSCE PA) session in Baku, claims that some of Russia's Western partners are trying to conceal the truth about the real events in Ukraine and would "unmask themselves" if they oppose the establishment of a contact group on Ukraine based on the OSCE PA forum.
"We are really displeased that some of our partners - both European ones and those across the ocean - are concealing part of the truth about what is really happening in Ukraine now. There is a good opportunity to say this truth these days," Naryshkin said at a meeting with OSCE PA President Ranko Krivokapic.
There is also an opportunity to create mechanisms to restore peace, law and order in Ukraine, Naryshkin said. "Our proposals on setting up a special contact group on Ukraine based on the OSCE PA forum lie in this very paradigm," he said.
"If someone resists this position and our proposal, they would unmask themselves. They would expose themselves. But I believe this won't happen," he said.
