Ex-Norilsk Nickel exec Christine Coignard joins Polymetal board

MOSCOW. June 30 (Interfax) - Christine Coignard has been appointed to the board of directors of Polymetal as senior independent non-executive director effective July 1, 2014, Polymetal said in a press release.

Coignard replaces Charles Balfour, who announced he would step down earlier this year.

Coignard was most recently managing director at HCF International Advisors, and before then worked at Royal Bank of Canada, Societe Generale and Citibank. She was also international consultant for Boston-based Apogee Gold Fund and director of investments and financing for Norilsk Nickel, after working as project manager for Interros. She is also a managing director and founding partner of Coignard & Haas GmbH, the press release says.

Coignard has also been appointed to the board's audit and risk and nomination and remuneration committees.
