Major synthetic drug ring busted in Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District
KHANTY-MANSIYSK. June 30 (Interfax) - Police in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District and their colleagues from the Sverdlovsk region have jointly busted a major synthetic drug ring in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District, according to the Interior Ministry Directorate for the Autonomous District.
In the course of operational procedures police received information that a large amount of drugs will be supplied to the District.
As a result, police held a native of a CIS republic, who was driving a vehicle containing about 32 kilograms of synthetic drugs, not far from the town of Surgut. Later, a cache containing yet another four kilograms of drugs was found in a tree belt area along the highway between the cities of Tyumen and Khanty-Mansiysk.
The police also established that the man had similar caches with drugs in big cities in several regions.
The man is now facing criminal charges.
