Russia ratifies military-technological cooperation treaty with Armenia
MOSCOW. July 1 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed into law a bill that ratifies a treaty aimed at further promoting military-technological cooperation between Moscow and Yerevan.
The document was adopted by the State Duma, the lower chamber of Russia's parliament, on June 20, 2014 and was approved by the Federation Council, the upper chamber, on June 25, according to a report posted on the Russian head of state's website.
The treaty, which was signed in Yerevan on June 25, 2013, regulates deliveries of military-purpose products for the national armed forces, military units, law enforcement agencies and special services of Russia and Armenia. It also includes a provision saying that supplies of such products will be carried out under contracts, which will be concluded by authorized organizations of the parties without issuing import and export licenses
The ratification of the document will not entail any additional costs for the budget because it will use only the funds previously allocated from Russia's federal budget for these purposes.
