Russian-Ukraine border control post reopens

ROSTOV-ON-DON. July 2 (Interfax) - The Veselo-Voznesenka control post has resumed operations on the Russian-Ukrainian border in the Rostov region, the regional law enforcement authorities told Interfax.

"Reportedly, the Veselo-Voznesenka control post resumed normal operations at 12:30 p.m. Moscow time. Passenger and cargo traffic are moving," a police spokesman said.

This control post did resume operations, representative of the Russian FSB border department for the Rostov region Vasily Malayev told Interfax.

The Veselo-Voznesenka customs post operations are running to their full extent, Gukovo customs post processes passenger cars, personnel of the Novoshakhtinsk customs post is on site, and the Dolzhansky post does not process citizens, Southern Customs Department press office head Rayan Farukshin told Interfax.

"Gukovo took two passenger vehicles between the morning and 1 p.m. If more passenger traffic comes, where drivers will want to go to Russia, they will be processed," Farukshin said.

The press service of the Southern Customs Department told Interfax earlier in the day that the Veselo-Voznesenka customs post of the Taganrog customs was closed to passenger and motor traffic to Ukraine because of the events on the neighboring territory.
