Stray shells fired on Ukraine territory damage Russian border crossing point

ROSTOV-ON-DON. July 3 (Interfax) - Russia's Novoshakhtinsk border crossing point has been hit by shells as a result of gunfire near the Dolzhansky border crossing on Ukrainian territory, Vasily Malayev, spokesman for the Russian Federal Security Service's border guard department for the Rostov region, told Interfax.

"The Russian border crossing point Novoshakhtinsk was damaged as a result of gunfire near the Dolzhansky border crossing on Ukrainian territory on Thursday morning. The preliminary information available indicates that no one was killed or injured, but local infrastructure and the building of the Russian border crossing point were damaged," Malayev said.

"The situation in the area where the Russian border crossing point is located is being clarified. All circumstances of how these shells from Ukrainian territory appeared there and the extent of damage are being established," he said.
