Ukrainian air units bombs residential housing in southeast intentionally - LPR leader
LUHANSK. July 4 (Interfax) - Ukrainian troops intentionally bomb residential housing and their actions are no mistake, head of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) Valery Bolotov said at a news conference in Luhansk on Friday.
"No mistakes by pilots exist. Too many mistakes - why are such pilots needed then? They bomb everywhere and everything. They hit what they want," Bolotov said.
The region does not have a mission of Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) and UN monitors for now, Bolotov said. "Of course, they know everything [instances of fire against residential settlements and casualties among civilians]. But as you see all this is either hidden or done intentionally and if they [monitors] are sent officially, then to utterly different places," he said.
As to the actions of the Ukrainian law enforcement in the southeast, they are changing positions now, Bolotov said. "But believe me, we gave them a decent rebuff. We have posted a report on our website and you will see the successes and defeats of the Ukrainian forces," he said.
When asked to specify casualties among civilians and militia, Bolotov said: "These figures change daily, if not hourly. I think that soon we will make such summary and will post it on the website."
As to Russia's stance, providing different assistance and any talks with the Russian authorities, the LPR head said: "Russia currently helps us a lot mainly humanitarianly and on refugee issues. And for now all negotiations are held on pressing affairs, firstly, refugees and humanitarian aid."
Militia maintains humanitarian corridor from Luhansk near Izvarino and Severny, Bolotov said. "Clashes are under way there but a corridor exists, which we maintain," he said.
