Luhansk militia seizes Popasna

LUHANSK. July 8 (Interfax) - The militia of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic has seized the town of Popasna on the border with the Donetsk region.

"Several hundreds of fighters of the Southeast Army arrived in the city in the small hours of Monday. The city had not been controlled by the junta but there had been no major activity of the Luhansk Republic there either," the Novorossiya news agency said early on Tuesday morning.

Popasna is situated 20 kilometers away from the town of Stakhanov where Luhansk People's Republic leader Valeriy Bolotov is organizing his "alternative staff".
