Lavrov: Artificial barriers hampering South Stream project must be removed
MARIBOR, Slovenia. July 8 (Interfax) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said the South Stream project must be implemented in compliance with the intergovernmental agreements.
"We are convinced that all artificial barriers hampering the implementation of the South Stream project should be removed, while the intergovernmental agreements signed must be abided by," he said at a press conference in Slovenia on Tuesday.
The European Commission will hopefully re-launch the work of the contact group which dealt with these issues, he said.
