Sergei Ivanov: Russia-China exercises bolster cooperation

BEIJING. July 9 (Interfax) - Russia-China military exercises are not targeted against third countries, Russian Presidential Administration Head Sergei Ivanov emphasized.

He told students learning Russian in Beijing on Wednesday that bilateral military exercises "had caused plenty of questions of our Western friends and partners."

"We are sovereign states and our exercises are not targeted against anyone; their purpose is to bolster bilateral cooperation. This is normal, natural and we do not breach any international laws; this is a sovereign choice of the two states," the administration head noted.
