Russian long-term development concept to 2020 to become Strategy-2025 - Klepach
MOSCOW. July 9 (Interfax) - Russia's long-term development concept to 2020 must be updated and transformed into Strategy-2025 by the end of the year, Deputy Economic Development Minister Andrei Klepach said in an interview with Interfax.
The long-term development concept to 2020, or LDC-2020, was approved at the end of 2008, he said.
"The [strategic planning] law specifically stipulates that it must be approved by the government and how often it must be updated. The instruction to update the LDC has been received, but now it will be called the Strategy to 2025. It must be updated by the end of this year, and it must run until 2025," he said.
"It is too early to say whether or not this work will be completed by the end of the year, but it is important to do this. After that, under the new law, it must be updated every five years," he said.
