Lavrov: Russia wants independent experts to be involved in investigating killings of civilians in Ukraine
MOSCOW. July 9 (Interfax) - Russia insists on engaging independent experts in investigating the killings of civilians, including journalists, in Ukraine, as there are reasons not to trust Ukrainian security officials investigating these incidents, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said at a news conference on Wednesday.
In contacts with international organizations, Russia has insisted that, in investigating these incidents, "it would be ideal if involvement of independent experts in these procedures is ensured, as there are more than enough reasons to suspect Ukrainian security people of concealing facts," Lavrov said.
