Georgia permitted to supply almost all vegetables, fruits, gourds to Russia
TBILISI. July 10 (Interfax) - Head of the phytosanitary surveillance of the National Food Agency of the Georgian Agriculture Ministry Zurab Lipartia said he welcomed the decision timely made by the Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor) to expand the list of Georgian vegetables and gourds permitted for import to Russia.
"We have not received an official notification for now but a statement was posted in the official Rosselkhoznadzor website in the morning on July 9 that the list of agricultural products allowed to the Russian market is expanded from July 9," Lipartia told Interfax.
The decision on this regard was made in very short time - within one week after a relevant request on supplying to Russia wider range of Georgian agriculture products was made, he said.
"As a result, now Georgia can export to Russia almost all types of fruit, vegetables and gourds," Lipartia said.
Now only greenery remains as supplying it require additional work, he said.
