Russia's Donetsk city deliberately attacked by Ukrainian forces - investigators
MOSCOW. July 14 (Interfax) - The Russian Investigative Committee (RIC) believes the shell which hit a residential building in the city of Donetsk in Russia's Rostov region was launched by the Ukrainian army.
"Unidentified members of the Ukrainian armed forces, the Ukrainian National Guard and the Right Sector fired shots against Donetsk, Rostov region, from Ukrainian territory on July 13," RIC spokesman Vladimir Markin told Interfax on Monday.
He recalled that the shells hit a property in Baltiiskaya Street and caused fatal injuries to a 45-year-old resident.
"The man sustained a traumatic amputation of his left arm with fragmentary bone fractures; also, an 82-year-old woman was injured and received timely medical aid," Markin said.
"The unidentified members of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the National Guard of Ukraine and the Right Sector failed to accomplish their deliberate attacks aimed directly at killing people in Donetsk, Rostov region, for reasons beyond their control, because the city residents had managed to hide themselves in safety in due time," the RIC spokesman said .
