MOSCOW. July 15 (Interfax) - Rescue workers have evacuated over 1,000 people from the stretch of the Moscow metro where an accident occurred on Tuesday morning, a spokesman for the Emergency Situations Ministry's Moscow department said on Tuesday.

He said helicopters of the Moscow air ambulance service have performed 15 flights, but did not say how many people were thus airlifted to hospitals.

Three cars went off the tracks on the blue line of the Moscow metro near the station Slavyansky Boulevard on Tuesday morning. One of the cars was badly damaged.
