Western sanctions do not stop Russian delegation from working at Farnborough 2014
FARNBOROUGH (The UK). July 17 (Interfax-AVN) - The new sanctions imposed on a number of Russian defense plants have had no effect on the work of the Russian delegation to the Farnborough International Airshow 2014.
"We have already been working under extreme conditions here. Visa problems have cut the size of the delegations of some enterprises from 10-15 to one or two members," a Russian official delegation member told Interfax-AVN on Thursday.
The Radio-Electronic Technologies Concern amongst others subjected to the sanctions has found itself in this situation, he said. The Concern has one of the biggest stands at Farnborough but there is practically no one to support its operation.
"Well, the business part of the airshow is over. Keynote meetings and negotiations are complete. Most executives of Russian aircraft and space companies have finished their visit to the exhibition and gone home," the source said.
Traditionally, the airshow is open to the general public on its last days and the emphasis is shifted to demonstrations. "As a rule, negotiations are not held on the so-called public days," he said.
