Moscow won't leave U.S. sanctions unanswered, deny entry to same number of Americans - diplomat

MOSCOW. July 19 (Interfax) - Moscow will not leave a new portion of U.S. anti-Russian sanctions unanswered, the Russian Foreign Ministry says.

"As for a new wave of anti-Russian sanctions tied to the events in Ukraine, response measures will definitely be taken. First of all, we will deny entry to an analogous number of Americans, which they will learn when apply for a visa," Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich said in a commentary for the media available on the ministry website on Saturday.

"As for economic restrictions, they have a boomerang effect in any case and will inevitably cause damage to U.S. businesses oriented toward the Russian market. In fact, the U.S. is sanctioning itself," Lukashevich said.
