Putin: Boeing tragedy would not have happened if hostilities had not resumed in eastern Ukraine
MOSCOW. July 21 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has blamed resumption of the hostilities in eastern Ukraine for the Malaysia Airlines Boeing crash.
"I am confident this tragedy would definitely not have happened if the hostilities had not resumed in eastern Ukraine on June 28," the president said.
Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777 en route from Amsterdam (the Netherlands) to Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) crashed in the Donetsk region on July 17. The crash killed 298 people.
