30-day ASFV quarantine imposed in Voronezh region's Anna district

VORONEZH. July 21 (Interfax) - The governor of the Voronezh region, Alexei Gordeyev, has signed a decree imposing quarantine for the African Swine Fever Virus (ASFV) in the region's Anna district where an outbreak of the disease was registered last week, according to the regional governor and government's press center.

The document also approves measures to curb the ASFV outbreak.

Under the decree, the quarantine will remain in place across the district, except on the federal A144 highway, for 30 days.

The regional governor also identified two zones at risk and imposed prohibitive measures there.

It was reported earlier that the ASFV was registered at the Nikolayevsky agricultural production facility in the Voronezh region. Up to 40,000 pigs are expected to be destroyed at the facility.
