PM Medvedev promises 3.5 bln rubles for Ukrainian refugees' accommodation
MOSCOW. July 22 (Interfax) - The Russian government will give 3.5 billion rubles to regions accommodating Ukrainian refugees in shelters and another 780 million rubles to the Federal Migration Service taking in the refugees.
"The government resolution I have signed today stipulates money transfers to regions for the accommodation of these citizens in shelters. The budget allocations will top 3.5 billion rubles. It has been decided to give another 780 million rubles to the Federal Migration Service which arranges the admission of Ukrainian citizens," Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said at a teleconference dedicated to the problems of regions taking in Ukrainian refugees.
Medvedev said a relevant government resolution had been signed. "In all, the government has allotted 4.94 billion rubles to deal with the refugee problem. It is a lot of money," he said.
The premier added that another resolution was devoted to the ability of Federation constituent territories to take in Ukrainian refugees. "The government has decided to give one-time financial aid to Ukrainian citizens possessing either the refugee status or temporary asylum. Hopefully, this will help people live through this ordeal," he said.
