ISS conducts debris avoidance maneuver

MOSCOW. July 23 (Interfax-AVN) - The Mission Control Center (MCC, Korolyov, Moscow region) has conducted a maneuver for the International Space Station (ISS) to avoid a fragment of the Briz-M upper stage, the Russian Federal Space Agency (Roscosmos) told Interfax.

"Thanks to the engines of the Zvezda module, which gave pulse for deceleration, the average altitude of the station's orbit was lowered approximately by 800 meters," the Roscosmos spokesperson said on Wednesday.
