Two locals suspected of killing Karachayevo-Cherkessia deputy put on federal wanted list

CHERKESSK. July 23 (Interfax) - Karachayevo-Cherkessia law enforcement authorities have put on the federal wanted list two local residents suspected of killing a deputy of the Karachayevo-Cherkessia National Assembly Muhamed Kunizhev, a representative of the Interior Ministry for Karachayevo-Cherkessia told Interfax on Wednesday.

Kunizhev was killed at about 8.30 p.m. at a football field in the village of Psyzh on July 15.

Investigators believe that the suspects came to the football field in Psyzh, where Kunizhev was, and shot him dead, senior aide to the Russian Investigative Committee investigative department head for Karachayevo-Cherkessia Sergei Shuvayev told Interfax earlier. Kunizhev died of gunshots wounds sustained at the scene.

A criminal case has been opened over the murder.
