Naftogaz postpones customs clearance of Russian gas over price differences

KYIV. July 24 (Interfax) - Naftogaz Ukraine has postponed the customs clearance of gas imported from Russia this year due to price differences with Gazprom , the head of Ukrainian state oil and gas company, Andrei Kobolev said at a briefing on Wednesday.

"The problem of customs clearance of gas - the nature of it is a conflict with Gazprom. The acts being signed by [Naftogaz] have one price, while the acts being signed by Gazprom have another price. Ukrainian customs legislation requires the primary document. For now, using a difference procedure, we have postponed the resolution of this issue," Kobolev said.

He added that Naftogaz is pushing for amendments to customs law to resolve this issue.

Kobolev did not specify the amount of gas that has not been cleared by customs.
